Benefits of Joining
Whether you are still in High School, or an adult looking to give back to your community, there are several benefits of joining the Fire Department as a volunteer.
Community Service
If you are in High School, your community service hours can be easily met. Many of your Fire Department courses can give you CEU’s as well.
State Benefits
Joining as a volunteer also admits you to the New Jersey Fireman’s Association, which comes with several benefits. These are quite extensive and can be found on the state website or talk with one of our recruitment personnel.
Free Courses
Regardless if you are looking to eventually become a career firefighter, or if you just want to learn for your own well being, all courses taken are free of charge.

Who We Are
We have 3 companies in our Borough
Each Company is strategically placed, has a unique job function, and has it’s own history.
Company 1
Ladder / Engine
803 Broad Ave
This firehouse houses the Tower Ladder, which has a platform/bucket, and a dual Ladder/Engine which can operate as either an Aerial Ladder truck, or an engine pumping water.
Company 2
Rescue / Engine
588 Bergen Blvd
This company houses a Rescue Truck equipped with various tools for rescue or vehicle extrication, and an Engine used for pumping and fire suppression.
Company 3
Engine
530 Shaler Blvd
This firehouse contains two Engine’s, designed for pumping large amounts of water and fire suppression.
